dear Naima, 27mo my darling little big girl, we started potty you didn't like it much, at first. you didn't really complain but you didn't get the hang of it either. you just pee'd while you continued playing and looked at us in confusion as pee ran down your leg. then we became lazy parents, the kind the potty-training books say not to be, and we gave up on the whole going diaper-less throughout the day. we folded up the panties and got the diapers back out. i don't know why, really, i think we got frustrated and i kind of felt like we were pushing the issue and that you weren't ready for it yet. but then i got firm on the potty training goal again. and i'm so freaking proud of you, my sweet girl! it's been a little over a week and you have done beautifully! you've had pee-free days for a while now and have really gotten the hang of telling us when you need to go to the toil one thing we really need to work on is you calling everything caca. so we're confused if you have to do #2 or #1. most of the time it's only tee-tee but you do handle both very well in the big girl toilet. we just need clarification on what kind of potty activity you need to do. you don't quite have the whole wipe before you leave the restroom thing either. you jump off the toilet and run around the house yelling, "hice caca, mama! hice caca, mama!" so, even though we do celebrate you big accomplishment every time, we have to run after you to wipe you clean. especially when you just finished doing tooty. but, like i said, thos and now, we work on the biting and slapping... |
