my darling little big girl,

we started potty training at the beginning of my summer vacation. i thought, we'll be home all day with you and we can concentrate on going diaper-less without having to worry about work or anything else.
you didn't like it much, at first. you didn't really complain but you didn't get the hang of it either. you just pee'd while you continued playing and looked at us in confusion as pee ran down your leg.

then we became lazy parents, the kind the potty-training books say not to be, and we gave up on the whole going diaper-less throughout the day. we folded up the panties and got the diapers back out. i don't know why, really, i think we got frustrated and i kind of felt like we were pushing the issue and that you weren't ready for it yet.

but then i got firm on the potty training goal again. and i'm so freaking proud of you, my sweet girl! it's been a little over a week and you have done beautifully! you've had pee-free days for a while now and have really gotten the hang of telling us when you need to go to the toilet. we run with you to the restroom and you wiggle yourself out of your clothes and you get your toilet seat adapter, puts it on yourself and with your little stool you sit on the toilet all by yourself. you still have some things to work on but it's all minor things we can't work through.

one thing we really need to work on is you calling everything caca. so we're confused if you have to do #2 or #1. most of the time it's only tee-tee but you do handle both very well in the big girl toilet. we just need clarification on what kind of potty activity you need to do.

you don't quite have the whole wipe before you leave the restroom thing either. you jump off the toilet and run around the house yelling, "hice caca, mama! hice caca, mama!" so, even though we do celebrate you big accomplishment every time, we have to run after you to wipe you clean. especially when you just finished doing tooty.

but, like i said, those all minor things. we're so very proud of you, my little big girl. you're 27mo young and you've alredy gotten the hang of the potty. i do hope i'm not jinxing you and we're in for some wet days ahead. but i just have to celebrate your big girl accomplishment. i seriously thought it was going to take longer to get away from those diapers. i thought you were just going to be fine with getting wet and staying wet as long as you were having fun playing. but that's the last time i underestimate you, chiquita. you have proven your mommy wrong. way to go on the potty training success!

and now, we work on the biting and slapping...
